In a brief statement following the announcement, Minister Maynard commented on the competition’s impact on the work of his Ministry and reiterated his congratulatory remarks to Jaquori.

Jaquori emerged victorious following two rounds of weighted judging worth 80% and 20% of the overall score. In the first round, a panel of judges with artistic and professional expertise in the energy sector evaluated the submissions. In the second round, the public cast its vote via online voting mechanisms on social media and the Ministry’s website, mopieudt.gov.kn.

The Energy Unit devised the competition to involve youth in its activities to commemorate CARICOM Energy Month, which is observed annually in November. The theme for this year is ‘Invest in Sustainable Energy: Accelerating the Transition.’
